Description
The Franco Belge Montfort Elegance is proof that a small stove can still do a proper job. It is a compact cast iron wood burning stove with 4.6KW of output, made for homeowners who want real fire and dependable warmth in a smaller room without giving up floor space.
Franco Belge Montfort Elegance Features
Compact cast iron
It measures 40 x 45.4 x 55 cm and weighs 75 kg. That gives it enough cast iron mass to keep radiating heat once the flames settle, which is what makes a small cast iron stove feel warmer than its size suggests.
Clean glass, easy cleaning
The Montfort range uses dual combustion air controls with an air-wash system that sweeps air down the inside of the glass, helping to keep your view of the fire clear. A large ashtray makes cleaning out quick, so the stove is easy to live with day to day.
Flexible flue options
Montfort stoves can take the flue from the top or the back, and the Elegance connects to a 125 mm flue. That makes it easier to fit into an existing fireplace opening or under a sloping ceiling.
Is the Montfort Elegance right for your home?
We do not have a maker heating figure for this model, so here is a rough guide: a 4.6KW stove usually suits a small lounge, study, bedroom or cottage of about 30 to 50 m2 with a normal ceiling. For larger rooms, see our other freestanding fireplaces.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team supplies and installs the stove with a 125 mm flue, a cowl suited to Cape wind and flashing that keeps winter rain out of the roof, and we complete the compliance certificate. Montfort Elegance FAQs
What fuel does the Montfort Elegance burn?
We list it as a wood stove. Burn dry, seasoned hardwood cut to fit the firebox for the best heat and clean glass. If you want a stove that also takes coal, ask our team about the multi fuel options in the range.
Will the Franco Belge Montfort Elegance fit in my old fireplace?
Often, yes. Its compact size means it can sit inside or in front of many existing openings, connected to the chimney with a flue liner. We measure the opening and check the chimney before we confirm.
