Under its compact steel body sits a full lining of thick fireproof bricks, a quality German glass door and a cast iron grate, so it heats a small room well and lasts for many winters. Firebrick lined steel body
The whole combustion chamber is lined with Roka chamotte fireproof bricks from Greece, 30mm thick. Firebricks protect the steel from direct flame, hold heat and help the wood burn hotter and cleaner. The steel is 2mm thick on the front and 1.5mm on the sides, with every side shielded by the bricks.
Quality glass and seals
The door uses German Schott glass that is rated to 850 degrees C, and rope seals sit behind the glass to keep the door airtight. A tight door means you control the burn rate, which saves wood.
Practical details
A hardy cast iron grate lets air reach the fire from below and makes ash removal easy. The body is finished in FKI Hungarian high heat paint rated to 650 degrees C, so it keeps its colour.
