Description
Few fires draw people in like the Liseo L71 Bavorov. Glass on both sides lets you see the flames from two directions, so it works in the middle of an open-plan space or as a divider between lounge and dining room. It is fully cast iron, with a generous firebox that takes logs up to 600 mm, and enough power to heat a medium to large home.
Liseo L71 DF Bavorov Double Sided Features
Two views of one fire
A double sided fireplace gives everyone a good seat. Guests on either side can enjoy the flames, and the room feels more connected than with a fire pushed against a wall.
Strong, steady heat
The Bavorov has a nominal output of 12kW, with a working range of 8 to 17kW depending on how you load and set it. That lets you run a gentle fire on a mild evening or a big one when a cold front comes through.
Solid cast iron
At 131 kg, the whole body is cast iron, which stores heat and releases it slowly. Liseo rates efficiency at 72%. The casting is made in Germany and the unit carries CE certification.
Big firebox, less cutting
Inside, the combustion chamber measures 64 x 35.5 x 29 cm. Longer logs fit without trimming, so you spend less time at the chopping block. Outside, the unit is 69 x 45 x 89 cm and takes a 180 mm flue from the top.
Is the L71 Bavorov right for your home?
Liseo gives a heating area of 75 to 150 m2. That covers a large lounge or an open-plan living area, with room to spare in a well-insulated home. Our article on heating two rooms with one fire explains how placement affects warmth on each side, and you can compare other freestanding fireplaces too.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team supplies and installs the Bavorov with a 180 mm flue, cowl and roof flashing that hold up in strong wind and winter rain, and we handle the compliance certificate. Learn more about our fireplace installation in Cape Town or the Liseo fireplace range.
Liseo L71 Bavorov FAQs
Where is the best place for a double sided fireplace?
Usually in the centre of an open room or on the line between two spaces you use together. It needs clear floor space and a safe flue route straight up, which we check on site before you commit.
What warranty does the Bavorov carry?
Our listing states a 5 year warranty on the L71 DF Bavorov. Our team installs it to the maker’s guidance, which keeps the cover valid.
How much wood does a 12kW fire use?
It depends on your wood and how hard you run it. Dry hardwood and a well-set air control give a long, slow burn, and the cast iron keeps radiating heat between loads.
