Description

Most stoves are boxes. The Kratki Picard is not. It is a tall, round steel fireplace with a rounded front and curved glass, so the fire looks almost like a lantern standing in the room. It shares its width with the Kratki AB-S but is bigger and deeper, which gives it more firebox and more heat: 12kW, enough for a large living area.

Kratki Picard Wood Fireplace Features

Curved glass, wider view

The curved glass follows the round front of the stove, so you see the flames from the side as well as head-on. It makes the Picard fireplace a natural centre piece in a lounge or open-plan room.

Tall and compact

The Picard measures 52.2 x 51.8 x 126.1 cm. Its height gives it presence, while the narrow footprint keeps it from taking over the floor. That suits modern homes where wall space is limited but ceilings are generous.

Serious heat from steel

As a 12kW wood fireplace, it warms a big space quickly. The steel body weighs 137 kg, which gives a solid, stable stove that sits firmly on its hearth.

Flexible flue options

The 150 mm flue can connect from the top or the rear. A top outlet suits a straight run through the ceiling, while a rear outlet can go into an existing chimney or out through a wall. That flexibility helps when we plan the install in an older home.

Is the Picard right for your home?

Kratki rates it for a heating area of about 115.38 m2, so it suits a large lounge, an open-plan kitchen and living area, or a room with a higher ceiling. In a small room it would run too hot. Read our Kratki fireplace buyer’s guide, or compare it with other freestanding fireplaces.

Installation in Cape Town

Our team supplies and installs the Picard with the right 150 mm flue, a cowl built for Cape wind and sealed roof flashing for the winter rains. We check clearances, the hearth and compliance. See how our fireplace installation in Cape Town works, or browse the full Kratki range.

Kratki Picard FAQs

How is the Picard different from the Kratki AB-S?

They share the same width, but the Picard is bigger and deeper, with more heat output. Both have a round front and curved glass. Choose the Picard if you have a larger room to heat.

Can the Kratki Picard connect to my existing chimney?

It has a top or rear flue outlet, so a rear connection into an existing chimney is often possible. We inspect the chimney first to make sure it is sound and the right size.
