Description

Decorative cast iron and a big curved glass door give the Kratki K6 real classic charm. It pairs decorative cast iron detailing with a big curved glass door, so the fire stays the centre of attention, and its 11kW output gives a family lounge proper heat on the coldest Cape nights. The body is cast iron with a minimum wall thickness of 8mm, which is why it weighs a solid 120 kg.

Kratki K6 Cast Iron Wood Stove Features

Thick cast iron for slow, even heat

Cast iron takes a while to warm, then gives that heat back slowly. With walls of at least 8mm, the K6 keeps radiating warmth after the flames settle, so you add fewer logs over an evening and the room stays at an even temperature.

A clear view through curved glass

The large glazed door uses heat resistant glass with an airwash system that sweeps air down the inside of the pane. Less soot sticks, so you clean the glass less often. A cold handle system lets you take the handle off while the fire burns, and a decorative fence stops logs rolling forward.

Easy to clean and control

A removable grate and an ash drawer make the morning clean-up quick. A cast iron deflector lengthens the path of the hot gases, and you can regulate the air supply to the firebox to run a fast, bright fire or a slow burn.

Flexible flue connection

The K6 has a top or rear flue outlet for a 150 mm flue, which helps when the stove has to sit close to a wall. It measures 57.8 x 49 x 66.8 cm.

Is the Kratki K6 right for your home?

Kratki rates the heating area at 160 to 275 m³. For most homes that means a large lounge or an open-plan living area with a normal ceiling. High ceilings, big windows and draughty rooms all need more heat, so send us your room size and we will confirm the fit. You can compare it with other freestanding fireplaces in our range, or read our Kratki fireplace buyers guide.

Installation in Cape Town

Our team supplies and installs the K6 with the correct flue, cowl and roof flashing for Cape wind and winter rain, and we look after compliance. Find out how our fireplace installation in Cape Town works, or see the full Kratki range.

Kratki K6 FAQs

Can I take the handle off the Kratki K6 while it burns?

Yes. The cold handle system is designed so you can remove the handle during combustion. It stays cooler away from the door, and you simply clip it back on when you need to open the stove to add wood.

Does the K6 need a rear or top flue?

Either works. The stove has both outlet options for a 150 mm flue. We choose the one that suits your ceiling, roof and wall clearances when we visit, so the flue run is as short and straight as possible.

How heavy is the K6 and does my floor need preparing?

It weighs 120 kg, so it needs a solid, non-combustible hearth. Most concrete floors are fine with a hearth plate. We check the floor and clearances on site before installation.
