Description
For large homes that get properly cold in winter, the Kratki Arke 80 Freestanding Plus gives you serious heat in a neat box shape. It is the FS version of the Arke insert: the added cover surround means it can sit exposed on a ledge or plinth with a clean finish, no building work needed around it.
Kratki Arke 80 Freestanding Plus Features
Fans that move the heat
The Plus models have thermostatically controlled fans built into the base. Once the fireplace is hot they switch on and spread the warmth further into the room, which is what makes it a strong fan assisted fireplace for open-plan spaces. If the power goes off, the thick ceramic lining keeps the firebox hot and helps protect the fans.
Clean burn and clean glass
Primary and secondary combustion burn the wood more fully, so you get more heat per log and less smoke up the flue. An air wash system sweeps air across the inside of the glass to cut down on soot, and the front slide-out ash box makes cleaning quick. Kratki rates its efficiency at 75 percent.
Solid steel build
The Arke 80 is made from thick steel and weighs 154 kg. It measures 85 x 48.2 x 61.8 cm and connects to a 200 mm flue at the top. That weight matters: it holds heat and keeps the body stable at high output.
Is the Arke 80 Freestanding Plus right for your home?
As a 16kW wood fireplace with a maker rating of 153.5 m², it suits large lounges, double-volume rooms and open-plan living, kitchen and dining areas. In a small room it will be too much heat. Send us your floor size and ceiling height and we will confirm it is the right size, or compare other freestanding fireplaces.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team supplies and installs the Arke 80 with a 200 mm flue, a cowl that copes with the south-easter and roof flashing that stays dry in winter rain. We also handle the compliance certificate. Kratki Arke 80 FAQs
Do the fans need electricity?
Yes, the fans need a plug point near the fireplace. The fire still burns and heats the room without power, it just relies on natural radiation and convection until the power returns.
What warranty does the Kratki Arke 80 have?
Kratki wood-burning fireplaces carry a 5 year warranty from the maker. Our team registers the details for you at installation.
Can it go into a built-in fireplace?
The Arke comes as an insert as well. The Freestanding Plus has its own cover, so it is made to stand in the open on a ledge or hearth.
