Description
The Invicta Sedan L is a heavy cast iron fireplace with a long, low body and one very practical touch: a side loading door. Adding logs from the side keeps embers and ash away from the front of the stove and away from your floor, which makes it a safer and tidier fire to live with.
Invicta Sedan L Features
A side loading wood stove for easy refuelling
Opening the side door means the main glass front stays closed while you load. Less ash escapes into the room, and longer logs slide in more easily along the length of the firebox.
Clean burn, clear glass
Preheated air is fed into the firebox to burn off gases that would otherwise go up the flue as smoke. A separate stream of warm air runs down the inside of the glass to keep soot off it, and the secondary air can be adjusted when your chimney draws very hard. The result is 76% efficiency and a clear view of the fire.
Long, slow burns
On a slow setting the Sedan L can burn for up to eight hours, leaving a bed of embers that relights quickly with fresh logs. At 164.5 kg of cast iron, it also keeps radiating heat after the fire drops.
Is this Invicta right for your home?
Our specs rate this 12kW fireplace for about 85 m2. That suits a large lounge or an open-plan living space. The body measures 76.6 x 52.2 x 77 cm, so allow for that width plus clearances. Compare our other freestanding fireplaces if your room is smaller.
Installation in Cape Town
The Sedan L uses a 180 mm flue, which we size and fit with the right cowl and roof flashing for Cape wind and winter rain. Our team also handles compliance. Read about our fireplace installation service, or see the full Invicta fireplace range.
Invicta Sedan L FAQs

Does the Invicta Sedan L have a warranty?
Yes, it is backed by a five-year warranty from Invicta. It is also Eco Design 2022 compliant and CE certified.
How long will a load of wood last?
Up to about eight hours on slow combustion, depending on the wood and air setting. Dry hardwood gives the longest, cleanest burn.
