Description
Simple lines, heavy cast iron and a broad view of the flames: the Invicta Preston is a modern indoor fireplace that keeps things understated. Its rectangular body is low and wide, so you can set it straight on a concrete slab or raise it on a bench for a higher view of the fire. Underneath the calm design is a powerful 12kW wood burner.
Invicta Preston Cast Iron Stove Features
Lasting warmth from cast iron
At 179 kg, the Preston has a lot of cast iron to store heat. Once it is hot it gives off soft, even warmth for hours, even after the flames die down. In slow combustion mode it can run for up to 8 hours on a single load of wood.
Cleaner glass and cleaner burning
Secondary air flows over the inside of the glass to help keep smoke and soot off the window. A post-combustion system adds preheated air to the firebox to burn off more of the gases, and Invicta rates the stove at 76% efficiency.
Flexible placement
The Preston measures 91 x 46.8 x 61 cm and connects to a 180 mm flue from the top. Put it on a slab for a low, contemporary look, or on the optional bench (sold separately) to lift the fire to eye level from the couch.
Is the Preston fireplace right for your home?
Our listing gives a heating area of about 75 m2, which suits a medium to large lounge. The 12kW output also gives you reserve heat on the coldest nights. If your room is very open or double volume, talk to us first. You can compare it with other freestanding fireplaces in our range.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team supplies and installs the Preston with a 180 mm flue, cowl and roof flashing suited to Cape wind and winter rain, and we issue the compliance certificate. Learn about our fireplace installation service, or view every Invicta fireplace in our Invicta range.
Invicta Preston FAQs
Does the Preston come with the bench?
No, the bench is optional and sold separately. Many homeowners set the Preston on a concrete slab or a raised hearth instead. We can help you choose the look that suits your room.
How long does the Invicta Preston burn on one load?
Up to about 8 hours in slow combustion mode with dry hardwood and the air turned down. A hotter fire for quick heat will use wood faster.
Is a 12kW fireplace too big for my lounge?
Not if your lounge is medium to large. The Preston can be run gently for a smaller room, but very small spaces will overheat. Send us your room size and we will advise.
