Description
Made in France by a foundry known for its cast iron, the Invicta Le Modena is a classic cast iron wood stove with real presence. It is low and broad, it holds a big fire and it keeps a room warm long after you have stopped adding wood. If you like a traditional fireplace that still burns cleanly and efficiently, the Le Modena is one to see.
Invicta Le Modena Cast Iron Stove Features
Long, slow burns
In slow combustion mode the Le Modena can run for up to 8 hours on a load of wood. Put it on low before bed and the room is still comfortable in the early morning, which is a big plus in a cold Cape winter.
Big logs, less cutting
The firebox takes logs up to 50 cm long, so you spend less time splitting and cutting wood. The cast iron walls soak up heat and release it gently, giving even warmth with no hot and cold spots.
Clean burning and clear glass
A clean glass system sends air down the inside of the door to help keep soot off the glass. Post-combustion burns off more of the smoke gases, and the stove has a rated efficiency of 77%.
Solid build
The Le Modena weighs 170 kg and measures 76 x 50 x 74 cm. It connects to a 150 mm flue from the top.
Is the Le Modena right for your home?
Our listing gives a heating area of about 65 m2, which suits a medium lounge with a normal ceiling. Its 10kW output gives you reserve power on very cold nights. Browse our freestanding fireplaces if you need something smaller or larger.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team supplies and installs the Le Modena with a 150 mm flue, a wind-rated cowl and proper roof flashing for Cape Town’s winter rain, and we provide the compliance certificate. Read more on our fireplace installation in Cape Town page, or see every Invicta fireplace in our Invicta range.
Le Modena FAQs
Is the Invicta Modena the same as the Le Modena?
Yes. Buyers search for it as the Invicta Modena, the Le Modena or simply the Modena fireplace. It is the same 10kW cast iron wood stove made by Invicta in France.
How long will the Le Modena burn overnight?
Up to about 8 hours in slow combustion mode with dry hardwood and the air turned down. Wet wood or a draughty room shortens the burn time.
What colours does it come in?
The Le Modena has been offered in black, ivory and red enamel finishes. Ask our team which colours are in stock before you order.
