Description
The Hydrofire Teide 80 Insertable is a built-in fireplace for homeowners who want a clean, frameless look and strong, fan-assisted heat. It slots into a cladded wall or chimney breast and uses two silent turbines to move warm air into your living space, so heat reaches further than with a fire that relies on radiation alone.
Hydrofire Teide 80 Insertable Features
Fan-assisted heat you can control
Two quiet turbines with a potentiometer let you set the fan speed. Turn them up to warm a cold room quickly, or down for a gentle background flow. The unit also has control over hot air ducts, which our team can use to channel warmth where you need it.
Double combustion for more heat from less wood
Primary and secondary air controls feed a double combustion system. The second burn uses gases that would otherwise be wasted, which is why this fireplace insert reaches 85% efficiency. Your wood lasts longer and your flue stays cleaner.
Clean glass and a sleek finish
The door has black screen printed glass that hides the frame and shows only the fire. A clean glass system washes air over the inside of the glass, and white vermiculite lining brightens the firebox and reflects heat back into the flames.
Solid carbon steel body
The carbon steel chest weighs about 104 kg and measures 78 x 49 x 54.1 cm. It takes a 150 mm top flue.
Is the Teide 80 right for your home?
Our product data rates the Teide 80 at 11kW for a heating area of 65 m2 to 135 m2. That covers most large lounges and open-plan living areas. Compare other built-in fireplace options in our built-in range.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team designs the surround, builds the cladding, fits the flue, cowl and roof flashing for Cape wind and winter rain, and wires the fans safely. See our built-in fireplace design and cladding service, browse every Hydrofire fireplace, or read our Hydrofire buyer’s guide.
Hydrofire Teide 80 Insertable FAQs
Does the Teide 80 need electricity?
The fire itself burns wood, but the two turbines need power to run. During load shedding the fire still burns and radiates heat, the fans simply stop until power returns.
Can a fireplace insert go into my old chimney?
Often, yes. If the opening is large enough and the chimney is sound, we fit the insert and run a 150 mm flue up the chimney. We check the space on site before quoting.
