The Hydrofire Hamlet is a freestanding wood fireplace for homes where a small stove just will not cope. With an output of 12kW to 16kW, it is built to heat large open-plan areas, double volume lounges and rooms with plenty of glass. Power for big spaces
The 12kW to 16kW range lets you run a strong fire on the coldest nights and turn it down when the room is warm. That flexibility helps in Cape winters, when a cold front can drop the temperature fast.
Steel body, quick heat
The Hamlet is made from steel, which warms up quickly once the fire is going. You feel the heat soon after lighting, which suits busy evenings.
Practical size
For a large wood fireplace, the Hamlet fireplace stays fairly compact at 50 x 44.2 x 88.5 cm and 92 kg. It fits on a standard hearth plate and connects to a 150 mm flue from the top.

How big a room can the Hamlet heat?
Hydrofire rates the Hamlet for roughly 115 to 135 m2. Insulation, ceiling height and window area all change that figure, so we confirm the fit during a site visit.
Can the Hamlet connect to an existing chimney?
Often, yes. We check the chimney condition and size first, then either line it or run a new 150 mm flue through the ceiling and roof, whichever is safer for your home.
