Description
Some homes need more than a standard lounge fire, and that is where the Henley Druid 21 comes in. It is a high-output wood fireplace sized for large living areas, farmhouses, lodges and double-volume rooms, with enough heat to keep a big space comfortable through a wet Cape winter.
Henley Druid 21 Wood Fireplace Features
Serious heat output
At 21kW, the Druid is one of the more powerful freestanding units we supply. The body is high grade steel and the door is heavy cast iron, so it can take hard use night after night.
A cleaner, more complete burn
A double combustion system burns the wood and then the gases it releases. Tertiary air is fed in above the normal flame height, which lights off leftover gases and gives a cleaner burn with less smoke. The stove is rated at 74% efficiency.
Clear glass and safe handling
An air wash sweeps warm air down the glass to help stop soot building up, so you keep a good view of the fire. The handle stays cool to the touch, which makes adding wood easier and safer.
Size and flue
The Druid measures 67.5 x 65.8 x 44 cm and takes a 150 mm flue from the top or the rear. A rear flue can make it easier to place in front of an existing chimney.
Is the Druid 21 right for your home?
Our specs rate it for about 201 m2. That is a very large room, so this large wood fireplace is best for open-plan homes, halls, lodges and high ceilings. In a normal lounge it will run too hot, so compare our other freestanding fireplaces first.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team installs the Druid with the correct flue, cowl and roof flashing for strong Cape wind and winter rain, plus a proper hearth and compliance sign-off. Read about our fireplace installation, or browse the Henley Stoves range.
Henley Druid 21 FAQs
Is a 21kW fireplace too big for my lounge?
For most lounges, yes. A 21kW fireplace suits very large or open spaces. If your room is under about 120 m2, we will usually point you to a smaller Henley or another brand so the room stays comfortable.
Can the Henley Druid use a rear flue?
Yes. It can be set up for a top or rear flue, which gives more options when connecting to an existing chimney or working around a roof line.
