Description
Large, open-plan homes need a stove with real muscle, and the Henley Druid 16 delivers it. With a 16kW output and a heating area of about 153.5 m², it is made for double-volume lounges, farmhouse kitchens and big family rooms that smaller stoves struggle to warm. It is a steel wood stove, finished with a solid cast iron door.

Serious heat for big rooms
At 16kW the Druid 16 warms a large space quickly and holds the temperature on the coldest Cape winter nights. If your current fireplace leaves the far end of the room cold, the extra output makes a clear difference.
Double and tertiary combustion
Henley uses a double combustion system with tertiary air. Hot air is fed into the firebox above the flames so leftover gases burn instead of escaping as smoke. You get more heat from each load and a cleaner flue, with a rated efficiency of 74%.
Clean glass and a safe handle
An airwash system pushes air across the inside of the glass to stop soot building up, so the view of the fire stays clear. The cool to touch handle means you can open the door to add wood without reaching for a glove.
Flexible installation
The stove takes a 150 mm flue from the top or rear, and measures 61.8 x 63.2 x 43.6 cm. At 160 kg it needs a solid hearth, which we check when we visit.
Is the Druid 16 right for your home?
Our specification gives the Druid 16 a heating area of about 153.5 m². In a small lounge it would run too hot or be throttled down too far, which wastes wood and dirties the glass. Does a Henley fireplace keep the glass clean?
The Druid 16 has an airwash system that sweeps air down the glass. Burning dry, seasoned wood with enough air keeps it clear for longer. Wet wood or a fire run too low will still blacken the glass.
