Dovre is known for heavy cast iron, and the Vista 800 puts that material into a wide built-in unit with 11kW of output. You get a big landscape fire on display and enough heat to warm an open-plan space on a wet Cape winter evening.

Cast iron insert that stores heat
At around 110 kg, the Vista 800 has plenty of cast iron mass. It warms up steadily and keeps radiating heat once the fire settles, so the temperature in the room stays more even and you add wood less often.
Wide fire view
The 800 in the name hints at the wide format. Measuring 44 x 79 x 59 cm, the unit gives a broad view of the flames, which makes it a natural focal point in a feature wall, below a TV recess or between shelving.
Built for big rooms
An 11kW fireplace is made for larger spaces. It suits open-plan lounge and dining areas, double-volume rooms and homes where the fireplace is the main source of winter heat.
Strong draw through a 180 mm flue
The Vista 800 connects to a 180 mm flue. A larger flue suits a larger fire, helping the stove draw well and keeping smoke moving up and out of the house.
Is the Dovre Vista 800 right for your home?
As a rough guide, 11kW and up suits very large rooms or spaces with high ceilings, usually well over 100 m2. In a small lounge it would be too much heat. Send us your floor plan and ceiling height and we will confirm the fit, or compare it with other units in our built-in fireplace range.

Dovre Vista 800 FAQs
Can the Vista 800 be fitted into an existing chimney?
Sometimes. If the opening is big enough and the chimney is sound, we can fit the cast iron insert and line the chimney with a 180 mm flue. We inspect the space first and tell you honestly what will work.
Is an 11kW fireplace too hot for my lounge?
It depends on the size. An 11kW fireplace is best for large, open rooms. For a standard lounge a smaller model will be more comfortable and use less wood, and we will happily suggest one.
