Description
The curved front is what most people notice first. The Charnwood Cove 2 has a rounded door and window that show the fire from a wide angle, giving the room a soft, contemporary feel. It is the popular middle size in the Cove range, built from boiler plate steel and finished with a cast iron top and door, and it turns down to 3kW or runs up to 11kW as the weather demands.
Charnwood Cove 2 Wood Stove Features
Clean burning by design
Cleanburn and Air Wash technology sends air down the inside of the glass, which keeps the window clearer and the burn cleaner. The Cove 2 is SIA Eco-Design 2022 Ready, carries a clearSkies level 4 rating and is a Defra approved stove, so it is built to burn wood with low smoke.
One simple air control
The push-in, pull-out Quattro Flow control manages the burn rate with a single lever. Pull it out to get the fire going, push it in for a slow, steady evening burn.
Easy to clean and maintain
There is no grate. Logs burn on a double insulated sliding fire-bed that doubles as the ash pan, so emptying ash is quick. A drop-down throat plate also lets the chimney be swept through the stove.
Thoughtful details
The handle stays warm to the touch rather than hot, the door glass is Schott Robax, and there is a pre-fitted option for an outside air supply. The firebox takes logs of around 40 centimetres, and the flue can leave from the top or rear at 150 mm.
Is the Cove 2 right for your home?
Charnwood rates it for a heating area of about 106 m², which covers most medium to large lounges. The wide 3kW to 11kW range also means it will not overheat a smaller room on a mild night. The unit measures 41 x 55 x 66 cm. Compare it with other freestanding fireplaces or the full Charnwood fireplace range.

Charnwood Cove 2 FAQs
What colours does the Cove 2 come in?
Black is the standard finish. You can also special order it in Almond, Bronze, Brown, Blue, Green, Gunmetal or Pewter. Special colours must be ordered in advance, so speak to our team early.
Is the Cove 2 a good cove fire for a smaller lounge?
Yes. Because it turns down to about 3kW, it can tick over gently in a smaller room, then run harder on a cold, wet night in a bigger space.
What guarantee does Charnwood give?
Charnwood backs the Cove 2 with a 10-year limited guarantee. We install it to the maker’s requirements so that cover stays valid.
