The Charnwood C7 is the bigger brother of the C4, and the Charnwood C Seven keeps the same clean, simple look while adding more heat. It is a wood burning stove that can stand on its own or slot into a traditional fireplace opening, which makes it a useful choice when you are upgrading an old open fire.
Charnwood C Seven Features
Solid, practical build
The body is boiler plate steel with a cast iron door and top. A wooden handle stays cool to the touch, so loading logs is safe and easy. The stove weighs 134 kg and measures 40 × 56 × 62 cm.
Clean glass, easy control
Charnwood’s Cleanburn air wash keeps the window clear, and the Quattro Flow push and pull control sets the burn with one lever. Efficiency is listed at 76.90%, so your wood goes further.
Easy to clean
Instead of a grate, logs burn on a sliding fire bed that is also the ash pan. Slide it out, empty it, slide it back. A drop down throat plate lets your sweep clean the flue through the stove. The firebox takes logs up to 40 cm long.
Clean air credentials
The C7 is SIA Eco Design 2022 ready, holds a ClearSkies level 5 rating and is Defra approved, so it burns far cleaner than an old open fire.
Is the C Seven right for your home?
Our spec sheet rates it for about 80 m². That covers a medium lounge comfortably, and it can be turned down for a study or guest room on milder nights. Compare it with other freestanding fireplaces if your space is larger.

Can the Charnwood C Seven go into my existing fireplace?
Yes, it is designed to sit in a traditional hearth as well as freestanding. We check the chimney and fit a 150 mm liner where needed.
Can the C7 burn coal?
It comes set up for wood. An optional multifuel grate and ash pan kit can be ordered with the stove if you want to burn smokeless fuel.
