Description
The Carbel Maia Wallmounted is a wood burning fireplace that fixes to the wall instead of standing on a hearth, so the fire sits at eye level and the floor below stays open. It puts out 10kW, which is enough real heat for a big lounge, and the compact body keeps the look light and modern. For homeowners who want a proper wood fire without a bulky stove in the middle of the room, it makes a strong case.
Carbel Maia Wallmounted Fireplace Features
A fire that floats on the wall
Because the Maia hangs on the wall, there is no heavy base or legs to work around. That makes cleaning easier, frees up space for a log basket or a low bench, and gives a clean, gallery style look in a contemporary home. The unit measures 46 x 37 x 66.5 cm and weighs 68 kg, so we always check the wall structure before fitting.
Strong heat from a compact body
At 10kW, the Maia gives out far more warmth than its size suggests. Carbel lists a heating area of about 96 m2, which covers most large lounges and many open-plan living and dining spaces.
Mild steel in anthracite grey
The mild steel body heats up quickly, so the room warms soon after you light the fire. The anthracite grey finish sits well against white plaster, raw concrete or a feature brick wall.
Is the Carbel Maia wall mount right for your home?
With a 96 m2 heating area, it suits a big lounge or an open-plan room with a normal ceiling. Very high ceilings or lots of glass will need more heat, so send us your room size and we will advise. You can compare other wall mounted fireplaces in our range too.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team fixes the Maia to a suitable wall and fits the 150 mm flue from the top outlet, with the right cowl and roof flashing for Cape wind and winter rain. We also handle the compliance certificate. Read how our fireplace installation in Cape Town works, or see the full Carbel fireplace range.
Carbel Maia Wallmounted FAQs
Can any wall carry a wall mounted fireplace?
Not always. A solid brick or block wall is usually fine, but drywall or thin partitions need extra support. We inspect the wall on site and confirm the fixing method before the Carbel Maia Wallmounted goes up.
Does the Maia need a hearth on the floor?
It needs safe clearances from anything that can burn, and a non-combustible area below the door is wise for falling embers. We set out the right clearances during the site visit so the install passes compliance.
