Part of the Carbel i range, it is a built-in wood fireplace close to a metre wide, with a panoramic glass front that puts the flames on full display. Many buyers search for it simply as the Carbel i100. With a 15kW output it has the power to heat a large open-plan space through a long Cape Town winter.

A wide view of the fire
The i range was designed with a larger glass panel and a bigger combustion area than earlier Carbel models. The result is a long, low flame picture that looks good in a modern lounge and gives off plenty of radiant heat.
Practical door design
The door is reversible, so it can open to the left or the right depending on your room layout. A reinforced door and door seal close firmly, which helps control the burn and gives the fireplace a solid, quality feel every time you load it.
Built to fit your wall
The firebox measures 98.2 x 59.2 x 46 cm and is made from mild steel, weighing about 125 kg. You can take the 200 mm flue out of the top or the rear, which makes it easier to plan around beams, chimneys and roof lines. Several frame options are available to give the opening a neat finish against plaster or cladding.

Can the Carbel i100 go into an existing chimney?
Often, yes. With a top or rear flue exit, it can connect into many existing chimney openings once we line the chimney with the correct 200 mm flue. We check the size and condition of your chimney first.
Which way does the door open?
Either way. The door is reversible, so we set it to open left or right during installation, whichever gives you the easiest access to load wood.
How much space will a 15kW fireplace heat?
Carbel gives it a heating area of about 144 m2. Large windows, high ceilings or a draughty room will reduce that, so we look at the room before we confirm.
