Description
The Hydrofire Brita Double Sided is made for open-plan homes where one fire should warm and light up two zones. It stands freely between a lounge and a dining area, with a door and a large window on each side, and gives a clear view of the flames from wherever you sit. Built from extra thick steel, it feels solid and is made to last many winters.
Hydrofire Brita Double Sided Features
Two doors, two views
Most stoves show the fire to one wall. A double sided fireplace like the Brita has glass front and back, so it becomes a room divider fireplace that links two spaces instead of splitting them. You can load it from either side.
Big heat for big spaces
Nominal output is 11kW, with a range of 11kW to 18kW when it is worked hard. Hydrofire gives it a heating area of 106m² to 136m², which covers a large open-plan living area.
Long logs, less cutting
The firebox takes logs up to 500mm long, so you spend less time splitting and more time sitting by the fire. Fewer, larger logs also mean fewer trips to the wood pile.
Heavy steel build
At 145 kg and 57 x 61.5 x 76.2 cm, the Brita is a substantial unit. The thick steel holds heat well and resists warping. Efficiency is listed at 72%, and it connects to a 150mm flue from the top.
Is the Brita fireplace right for your home?
The Brita suits large, open rooms of about 106m² to 136m², with space around it for safe clearances on both sides. For a smaller lounge, a single-sided Hydrofire fireplace may suit you better. Our guide on heating two rooms with one fire explains the planning, and you can compare other freestanding fireplaces.

Brita Double Sided FAQs
How big a room will the Hydrofire Brita Double Sided heat?
Hydrofire lists a heating area of 106m² to 136m². That is a large open-plan lounge and dining area. Lots of glass or very high ceilings will reduce what it covers.
Does a double sided fireplace need more floor space?
Yes. Because both faces are open to the room, you need hearth and clearance on two sides. We measure on site and mark out the layout so you can see it before we install.
