Description
Stone and fire belong together, and the Thorma Alvesta makes the most of that pairing. This brown model is clad in natural sandstone, which soaks up heat while the fire burns and keeps giving it back long after the last log turns to embers. As a Thorma fireplace from Slovakia, it is a tall, elegant stove that suits classic and modern homes alike.
Thorma Alvesta Brown Sandstone Features
A true heat storage fireplace
The sandstone brown cladding is more than a finish. Stone holds heat far longer than plain steel, so the room stays warm and even through the evening, with fewer hot and cold swings. At 136 kg the Alvesta has plenty of mass to work with.
Wood or briquettes
Burn dry wood, or switch to brown coal briquettes for a longer, steadier burn. Thorma rates the stove at 7.5KW on wood and slightly more on briquettes, with an efficiency of about 80 percent on wood.
Clean, modern combustion
The firebox is lined with vermiculite, which reflects heat back into the fire for a hotter, cleaner burn. The stove is Ecodesign ready, carries an A energy class and can take an external air inlet, which helps in well-sealed modern homes.
Tall, slim footprint
It stands 112.2 cm high on a base of 39.1 x 56.8 cm, and connects to a 150 mm flue from the top. The height makes the fire a real feature without taking up much floor space.
Is the Thorma Alvesta right for your home?
Thorma gives a heating capacity of 98 to 190 cubic metres, roughly a 40 to 70 m2 lounge with a standard ceiling. It is ideal for a small to medium room where you want steady, lasting warmth. See other options in our freestanding fireplaces range.

Alvesta FAQs
Why choose a sandstone clad fireplace?
Sandstone stores heat and releases it slowly, so the Alvesta keeps a room comfortable long after the fire dies down. It also gives a warm, natural look that painted steel cannot match.
Is the Thorma Alvesta heavy to install?
At 136 kg it needs a solid hearth and at least two people to move. Our installers bring the right equipment and check your floor before placing it.
