Description
A built-in fire gives a room a clean, finished look, and the Progress Fires Air Cubo Single Sided 700 adds real heat to that look. It is a steel wood-burning insert with a 12.5kW output and two fans that move warm air out through slots above the glass, so heat reaches the room rather than staying trapped in the wall.
Progress Fires Air Cubo 700 Features
Fan-assisted warm air
Two fans come included. They draw air around the firebox and send it out of the front slots over the glass. That gives quicker warmth on a cold evening and spreads heat further than a box that relies only on radiant heat.
Double combustion
The Air Cubo burns the fire in two stages. Gases that would normally escape as smoke are burnt off in the second stage, giving more heat from each log and a cleaner flame.
Refractory firebox and thick steel
The combustion chamber is lined with refractory material that holds heat and protects the body. The side deflectors are made from heavy painted steel for long life.
Built in, not standing out
Measuring 47 x 73 x 62.5 cm, the Air Cubo 700 is designed to be framed inside a wall or chimney breast and then clad. The single glass front faces one room, and the 150 mm flue rises through the build. Note that the flue pipes are sold separately.
Is the Air Cubo 700 right for your home?
Progress Fires lists it for medium-sized rooms. Its 12.5kW peak output gives plenty in reserve, so it can also help in larger or open-plan areas with higher ceilings, depending on insulation. We look at your space before we recommend it. Compare other models in our built-in fireplaces range.
Installation in Cape Town
A built in fireplace needs careful planning: a fire-safe frame, ventilation for the fans, a power point, the right flue and a cowl and flashing that stand up to Cape wind and rain. Our team designs the surround, installs the unit and finishes the cladding. See our built-in fireplace design and cladding service, or browse the full Progress Fires range.
Progress Fires Air Cubo FAQs
Does the Air Cubo 700 need electricity?
The fire burns wood without power, but the two fans that push warm air out need a plug point. We plan the wiring as part of the build so the cables stay hidden.
Is the flue included?
No. Flues are sold separately, because the length and parts depend on your wall, ceiling and roof. We quote the flue kit with the installation.
Can it be clad in stone or plaster?
Yes. Once the unit is framed in, the wall can be finished in plaster, stone, tile or board. We advise on safe materials and clearances.
