Description

The Morso 6170 is a wall mounted fireplace for homes where floor space matters as much as warmth. Instead of standing on a hearth, it hangs on the wall, so the fire sits higher in the room and the area below stays open and easy to clean. It belongs to the Danish maker’s 6100 series, known for its oval shape and large curved glass, and it gives a small lounge real presence without taking over.

Morso 6170 Wall Mounted Wood Stove Features

A floating fire with a wide view

The curved glass wraps around the front of the oval body, so you see the flames from the couch, the dining table or the kitchen side of an open-plan room. Mounting it on the wall also lifts the fire away from small children and pets walking past at floor level.

Cast iron that keeps working

The body is solid cast iron and the unit weighs 102.5 kg. Cast iron heats up evenly and then keeps releasing warmth after the fire dies down, which is why many buyers still prefer a cast iron wood stove for steady, comfortable heat through a long evening.

Compact size, practical flue

It measures 38.6 x 45.1 x 63 cm and burns wood only. The 120 mm flue is a common size, which keeps flue parts simple to source and the installation tidy. Because it is wall hung, the wall itself must carry the weight, and we check that before any work starts.

Is the Morso 6170 right for your home?

With 5.8kW of output, a rough guide is a small to medium room of about 40 to 70 m2 with a normal ceiling. Open-plan spaces, high ceilings or lots of glass will need more heat, so send us your room size and photos and we will tell you honestly if it is enough. You can compare it with the full Morso fireplace range or our other wall mounted fireplaces, and our wall mounted fireplace buyer’s guide covers the main questions.

Installation in Cape Town

Our team supplies and fits the 6170 with secure wall brackets, the correct flue, cowl and roof flashing for the Cape’s strong winds and winter rain. We look at your wall type and roof first and handle the compliance side for you. See how our fireplace installation service works.

Morso 6170 FAQs

Can any wall carry a wall hung fireplace?

Not always. A solid brick or block wall is usually fine, while a drywall partition needs extra support or a different approach. Our team checks the wall, the flue route and the clearances on site before we confirm the installation.

What fuel does the 6170 burn?

It is made for dry firewood. Well seasoned hardwood gives the cleanest glass and the most heat, while damp wood creates smoke, tar in the flue and a dirty window, so store your logs under cover.
