Description

Tall, clean and built for real winter heat, the Euro Theia is a freestanding wood fireplace that suits modern South African homes. Its steel body is lined with vermiculite to keep the firebox hot, and a large German Schott glass door gives you a wide view of the flames. With an output of 12 to 15kW, it has the power to heat a big lounge or an open-plan living area.

Euro Theia Fireplace Features

Closed combustion, better heat

As a closed combustion fireplace, the Theia burns wood behind a sealed glass door. You control the air, so the fire burns slower and hotter than an open hearth and far less heat escapes up the chimney. It is also safer, with no sparks jumping onto the floor.

Efficient use of firewood

The Theia is rated at 80% efficiency. The vermiculite lining keeps temperatures high in the firebox, which helps the wood burn more completely and means fewer loads through the evening.

Schott glass door

German Schott glass is made to handle high heat, so you get a large, clear window onto the fire. Burn dry wood and the view stays bright.

Size and flue

The Theia measures 57 x 45 x 92.6 cm and weighs 83 kg, light enough for most floors with a standard hearth plate. A 150 mm flue leaves from the top for a straight, tidy pipe run.

Is the Theia fireplace right for your home?

Euro Fireplaces gives the Theia a heating area of 70 to 120 m2. That suits a large lounge, an open-plan living and dining space, or a home that wants one strong stand alone fireplace indoor to do most of the heating. Euro Theia FAQs

How large a room can the Euro Theia heat?

It is rated for about 70 to 120 m2. At the lower end it heats a big lounge with ease. At the top end it suits open-plan areas, as long as the space is not too draughty.

Is a closed combustion fireplace better than an open fire?

For heating, yes. A sealed door and air controls let the wood burn slowly and cleanly, so more heat stays in the room and you go through less wood. You still see the flames through the glass.
