Think of it as a modi braai stand and a freestanding braai stand in one. Set the braai on the stand and you have a freestanding braai that can go on a patio, deck or courtyard.

Made for the Modi
The stand is designed for the SAFire Modi braai, so the braai body sits on it securely without extra brackets. It is not a general braai stand, so check that you own or are buying the Modi before you order.
Stainless steel build
Like the braai, this is a stainless steel stand. It matches the finish of the Modi and handles outdoor use well when it is wiped down from time to time.
A heavy, steady base
The stand weighs about 110 kg on its own. That weight keeps the braai stable on a windy Cape afternoon and stops it from tipping when you lean on it to turn the meat.
Freedom to move
Renting, planning a new deck, or still deciding where the braai should live? On the stand, the Modi is not fixed to one wall. If you move house, the braai and stand go with you.
Which braais does the stand fit?

Placement and setup
Place the stand on a level, non-combustible surface such as paving or tiles, away from timber cladding and overhanging roofs. On a covered patio, the Modi still needs a flue to carry smoke out. Our team can deliver and set it up, and our braai installation services cover the flue too.

Is the Modi stand sold with the braai?
No, the stand is a separate item. Buy it with the SAFire Modi braai if you want a freestanding setup from day one, or add it later.
Can the stand go on a wooden deck?
We advise a non-combustible base under the braai, such as a paving slab or a fire-safe mat, to protect the deck from heat and embers. Ask us if you are unsure.
