Description
Adding gas to a wood braai you already own is one of the simplest upgrades you can make. The Northern Flame 3 burner gas braai insert is a 770 mm stainless steel gas braai that slots into a built-in braai as a gas insert for braai use, or stands on its own on a counter or table. Feed the children first on gas while the adults wait for the coals, or cook a full meal on a load-shedding night.
Northern Flame 3 Burner Gas Braai Insert Features
Three U-shaped burners
Each of the three Arrow U-burners is rated at 30 000 BTU. The U shape spreads the flame wider than a straight tube, so the whole grid heats up and you can turn each burner up or down to create hotter and cooler zones.
Reliable spark ignition
A solid brass flame thrower ignition with dual spark gets the burners going at the push of a knob. No matches, no firelighters.
Easy to clean
The heavy grid is stainless and can be flipped over. Underneath sit a fat trap and a drip tray that slides out across the full width. Pull the tray, wipe it and slide it back.
Built from stainless steel
The body uses 304 and 430 stainless steel with a black powder coated front, and the burners are 304 grade stainless. It measures 77 x 51.7 x 51 cm and weighs about 35 kg, a manageable size for one or two people to lift into place.
Is the Northern Flame 770mm right for your braai?
The 3 burner suits a family of four to eight and fits many standard built-in braai openings. Measure the inside of your braai before you order, or send us the width and depth and we will check it. Need more space? Northern Flame also makes a 2 burner model and 4 and 5 burner versions. Browse all our gas braais.
Installation in Cape Town
The gas bottle and gas fittings are not included with the insert. Our team supplies them, positions the bottle safely outdoors and issues a Certificate of Compliance through our gas installation service.
Northern Flame 770mm FAQs
Can the 770mm unit be used without a built-in braai?
Yes. It has a finished stainless steel housing, so it can sit on a stone or tiled counter as a tabletop gas braai. Keep it on a level, heat-safe surface with space around it.
Is it a sizzler or a real gas braai?
It is a real gas braai with a grid over open burners, not a flat plate sizzler. You get proper grill marks on steak, boerewors and chicken.
Is there a warranty on the burners?
Northern Flame makes the insert in South Africa and gives a one-year limited warranty on the burner. Our team helps with any claim.
