Description
If your old braai has rusted through, the Northern Flame 1200 is one of the easiest ways to replace it. It is a stainless steel built in braai made in South Africa, designed without a hood so it can slide straight into a chimney breast you already have. Wood or coal, it gives you a clean, modern braai with all the basics you use every weekend.
Northern Flame 1200 Stainless Steel Wood Braai Features
Two grades of stainless steel
The parts you see and touch, the frame, door, ash pan and ash drawer, are 304 stainless steel, the grade known for resisting rust. The firebox and coal maker use 430 grade stainless. The ash pan and coal maker are finished in matt black heat resistant paint for a smart, low key look.
A door that turns into a counter
The big front door slides away under the braai and becomes extra work surface. That means space for your tongs, a meat tray and the salt, right where you need them.
Everything you need to braai
- Coal maker for a steady supply of embers
- Galvanised steel grid with four height settings
- Light fitting for night braais
- Potjie hook
- Removable ash drawer
Size and options
The braai measures 55 x 130 x 81 cm, weighs 94 kg and has a top flue outlet of 345 mm. The flue kit is ordered separately to match your installation. Options include the Gather detachable hood, a stainless steel door set and frame for storage under the counter, and a gas and wood or gas only version.
Is the Northern Flame 1200 right for your home?
At 1.3 metres wide, it suits a family braai room or covered patio and comfortably cooks for a group of eight to twelve people. Because it is built in, smoke goes up the chimney rather than into your guests’ eyes, even on a windy day.
