It is a built in braai with a steel firebox, a movable ember maker and a potjie hook, so you can grill, slow-cook a potjie and keep the room warm from one unit. It is proudly South African and made to last.

Coals ready faster
The ember maker is the heart of the braai. You build the fire behind it and it drops a steady supply of coals below, so you can start cooking in about 15 minutes and keep going for as long as the party lasts. Because it moves, you can set up the firebox in different ways for different accessories.
Everything you need from day one
The unit comes with a full-length braai grid with adjustable heights and grid lifters, plus a poker, ash pan and ash drawer, plus a 220V light fitting for evening braais. There is a top and a bottom door, and the lower door folds down to give you a handy worktop while you cook. Insulation material and touch-up paint are in the box too.
Strong steel firebox
The firebox is made from A grade hot-rolled 3mm mild steel. If you live close to the sea you can special order it in 304 stainless steel or a 12% chromium utility steel for extra rust resistance. The unit weighs about 123 kg and measures 53.5 x 83 x 85.5 cm, with a 220 x 420 mm flue.

Can the Home Fires De Luxe 800 heat a room?
Yes. With the doors closed it works as a fireplace, so it warms an enclosed entertainment area in winter as well as cooking for your guests.
What is the difference between the De Luxe and the Super De Luxe?
They share the same size. The Super De Luxe adds a warmer drawer and a spade. If you want the core braai features and a simpler setup, the De Luxe covers it.
Is a Home Fires built in braai covered by a guarantee?
The De Luxe comes with a 15-year limited guarantee and a guarantee certificate in the box, along with the instruction manual.
