Home Fires Built-in Gas Braai 800mm Features
Gas convenience, built-in looks
There is enough depth in the box for the Home Fires griller to stay inside with both doors shut. When the braai is off, the front looks clean and tidy, like part of the kitchen rather than an appliance.
Doors that pull their weight
Top and bottom doors come standard. The bottom door folds down to make a handy work surface for plates, marinades and tongs, which helps in a small braai area.
Light for evening braais
A light fitting is built in, so you can see what you are cooking long after sunset, without rigging up a lamp.
Solid steel build
Made from steel and weighing 121 kg, the 800mm unit measures 55 x 83.5 x 85.5 cm, with a 220 x 420 mm flue opening for the canopy. If you need more grill space, there is also a 1000mm model with a 5 burner grill.
Is the Home Fires gas braai right for your home?
The 800mm size with 4 burners suits most families and regular groups of six to ten people. A gas built in braai is ideal if you braai often during the week, or when load shedding makes cooking indoors hard. If you prefer wood and gas together, compare other units in our built-in braais range or the full braais section. Our guide to Home Fires braai types and sizes can also help.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team builds in the unit, fits the canopy and flue for Cape wind, and connects the gas with the right certificate of compliance. For a built-in braai Cape Town homeowners can rely on, see our built-in brick braai builders service, or browse the full Home Fires range.
Home Fires 800mm FAQs
Does a built in gas braai still need a chimney?
Yes, it should have a canopy and flue to carry heat, smoke and cooking fumes away. The 800mm unit has a 220 x 420 mm flue opening, and we size the canopy and chimney to suit.
Is the gas grill stainless steel?
Yes. The flat top grill with its 4 burners is stainless steel, which is easy to clean and handles outdoor use well. Many buyers looking at stainless steel gas braais choose this setup for that reason.
