The Home Fires 1200 gas and wood combo braai gives you both in a single built-in unit, with a stainless steel gas grill on one side and a wood or charcoal braai on the other. It suits a patio or braai room where space is set aside for one unit, but the family wants two ways to cook.

Two packs, one braai box
The 1200 box is the same in both packs. What changes is how the inside is split:
- 2 burner gas grill + 700 table braai: the bigger wood side. Choose it if the fire is the main event and gas is the quick backup.
- 3 burner gas grill + 580 table braai: more gas grilling space and a smaller wood side. Good if you cook on gas most days and light a fire now and then.

A gas grill that cooks evenly
The stainless steel grill uses flat cast iron burners with vaporiser plates above them. The plates spread the heat across the grid and catch drips, so you get fewer flare-ups and more even browning on chops, chicken and vegetables.
The Home Fires braai side
The wood side is the classic Home Fires braai. The maker lists a removable ash drawer, a height adjustable grid and a potjie hook, so you can control the heat over the coals and clean out easily afterwards. Insulation material comes with the unit for the build-in.
Doors that double as a counter
Two doors close off the opening when the braai is not in use. The top one lifts up and the bottom one folds down to give you a handy surface for plates and tongs while you cook.

Can I use the gas and wood sides at the same time?
Yes, that is the point of a gas and wood braai. Many families start the kids’ food on the gas grill while the coals get ready on the other side, then finish the meat over the fire.
Does a built-in gas braai need a gas certificate?
Yes. Any fixed gas connection needs a registered installer and a Certificate of Compliance. Our team handles the gas line, the bottle position and the paperwork as part of the job.
