Description
Pack the Earthfire Ceramic Campfire into the boot, set it down at the campsite and you have a proper fire within minutes, without scorching the grass. It is a glazed ceramic fire bowl and braai in one, with a stainless steel stand, an adjustable grid and a sturdy plywood box that holds the lot. All you need to bring is your tongs and some wood or charcoal.
Earthfire Ceramic Campfire and Braai Features
A ceramic braai that holds its heat
The bowl is the bottom half of an Earthfire pizza oven, glazed inside and out. Ceramic soaks up heat and gives it back slowly, so the coals stay hot longer and you use less fuel. It burns wood and charcoal cleanly with very little waste, and the glaze wipes down to look almost new.
Leave no mark on the ground
An aluminium ash bowl sits under the ceramic bowl. It catches the ash and pushes most of the heat outward to the people around the fire instead of down into the ground. That is why you can use it on lawn or bare earth and walk away without leaving a burnt patch.
Cook on it, not just sit around it
The braai grid adjusts over 20cm of height, so you can sear chops close to the coals or lift them for slower cooking. At the lowest setting the grid holds a potjie, which makes it a handy travel fire for weekends away.
Everything in one box
- Glazed ceramic campfire bowl and ceramic fire grate
- Stainless steel stand
- Height adjustable braai grid
- Aluminium ash catcher and heat deflector
- 9mm plywood box with a lid, hand holds and space for your tongs
The box measures 45 x 45 x 23 cm and the full set weighs 12 kg, so it straps easily to a roof rack.
Is the Ceramic Campfire right for you?
It suits two to six people around a fire on a camping trip, a picnic or a game drive stop. At home it works well on a balcony, small courtyard or townhouse patio where a big braai will not fit. Want something larger for the garden? Have a look at our freestanding braais or the full braai range.
Setting it up
There is nothing to install. Place it on a level surface away from overhanging branches and anything that can catch fire. When you are done, you can cool the bowl quickly with water and pack up, which makes this braai fire box a smart campfire container for places where open fires on the ground are not allowed.
Earthfire Ceramic Campfire FAQs
Will the ceramic bowl crack if I pour water on it?
Earthfire designed it to be cooled quickly with water so you can pack up and leave. Let the coals die down first, then use water to finish off. Avoid dropping the bowl, as ceramic can chip if knocked hard.
Is there a warranty on the Earthfire campfire?
Yes. Earthfire is a local South African maker and gives a 10 year limited warranty on the Campfire. Keep your proof of purchase with the box.
