Big family gatherings need a braai that can keep up, and the Home Fires Super De Luxe 1500 is built for that. It is a built-in wood braai, a potjie cooker and a fireplace for your entertainment area in one unit. It shares its size with the De Luxe range, but adds a warming drawer and a spade, so the meat stays warm while the next batch goes on the fire.
Super De Luxe Built-in Braai Features
Coals on demand
A movable ember maker gets you braaiing within roughly 15 minutes and keeps feeding fresh coals for as long as the party lasts. You can move it around to suit different accessories and cooking setups.
Everything you need, included
The kit is generous. You get the warming drawer and spade, plus a potjie hook, grid lifters, a poker, an ash pan and a separate ash drawer. The grid runs the full width and sets at different heights, and a light fitting helps when you braai after dark. Drop the lower door and it becomes a worktop for marinades and tongs. Home Fires also supplies insulation material, touch-up paint and a manual.
Solid steel construction
The firebox is made from hot-rolled 3mm mild steel and the unit weighs 238 kg. If you live near the sea, it can be special ordered in 304 grade or utility stainless steel for better rust resistance, at an extra cost. Optional accessories let you bake bread, cook stir-fry and smoke fish or meat.
Size and chimney
It measures 64.5 x 154.5 x 105 cm with a 500 x 600 mm flue opening on top. Plan your brickwork or cladding around those figures before you build.
Is it the right built-in braai stand for you?
At about one and a half metres wide, this is a large braai for big crowds, ideal for a covered patio, lapa or indoor braai room.
