Description
The Home Fires De Luxe 1500 is a wood braai for sale in our range that is made for people who entertain often and cook for a crowd. It combines a braai, a potjie cooker and an indoor fireplace in one steel unit, so your entertainment room stays warm in winter and the fire does double duty on a Sunday afternoon. Our team builds it into brick, stone or a cladded surround to suit your patio or lapa.
Home Fires De Luxe 1500 Built-in Braai Features
Coals ready fast
The movable ember maker burns wood on the side and drops fresh coals onto the grid area, so you can start cooking in about 15 minutes. It keeps feeding embers for as long as the braai runs, which matters when the second round of chops comes out late.
Everything you need is included
- Full-length grid with adjustable cooking heights and grid lifters
- Potjie hook for slow cooked kos
- Poker, ash pan and ash drawer for easy cleaning, the built in braai ash pan slides out without mess
- 220V light fitting for evening braais
- Top and bottom doors, with the lower door acting as a worktop
- Insulation material, touch-up paint and the instruction manual
Built from heavy steel
The firebox is made from 3mm “A” grade hot-rolled mild steel. If you live close to the sea you can special order it in 304 stainless steel or in a 12% chromium utility steel, which resist corrosion better in salty air. It weighs about 154 kg and measures 64.5 x 155 x 105 cm, with a 500 x 600 mm flue opening.
Is the De Luxe 1500 right for your home?
At 1500 wide, it comfortably handles a braai for 15 to 20 people. It is a built-in unit, so it needs a brick or cladded surround and a proper flue and cowl to draw smoke away, which also helps on windy Cape evenings. Optional extras let you bake bread, stir-fry and smoke fish. Among built in braais South Africa makes, it is one of the most complete. Browse our other built-in braais if you need a smaller size.
Installation in Cape Town
Our team handles the full job: surround, insulation, flue, cowl and roof flashing that stands up to the south-easter and winter rain. See our built-in brick braai builders service, read why custom braai installs pay off or view the full Home Fires range.
